With our re-location problems finally behind us it’s time to concentrate on the new edition of our magazine. Without wanting to change our tried and tested layout too dramatically, we’ve altered the design just enough to provide us with more text/image space per page and, hopefully, give a clearer indication of what each section is about.

Hi everyone. Finally, just 51 days since we moved, BT’s ‘seemless’ transfer of our telephone number 01246 290454 finally took effect yesterday afternoon. Christmas (in fact the whole of December) has come and gone and I can only apologise to anyone who has been tried unsuccessfully to reach us during this period.
The situation was finally resolved after one of our readers provided me with a direct contact in the BT Chairman’s office – and had it not been for that we might still be caught in the eternal web of automated phone calls that lead only to frustration and, eventually, insanity.
We are back however, and normal service is now (hopefully) resumed – so, please be assured that as long as you call us during our office hours (Mon-Fri 10am-1pm ; 2pm-4pm) you will be answered by a real live human being, albeit one who may by now be slightly ‘frazzled’.
Thank you to all those who have shown us patience and kindness during a very difficult period.
Best regards – Glyn Tel: 01246 290454
Christmas Holiday Closing
The Yamaha Club is now closed for the Christmas holiday until 10am on 6th January 2014. All the orders we’ve received, either online or via post have been processed and dispatched according to Royal Mail guidelines – so we hope they reach you in time for Christmas.
Our phone connection:
The calamitous story of BT’s ‘seamless’ handling of our phone-line and broadband service continues – so please be aware that our 01246 290454 phone line is still not available. Please check the news page of the Yamaha Club website at http://www.yamaha-club.co.uk/ for latest updates and information.
Yes, we were hacked!!
As if the phone fiasco wasn’t bad enough, our email address book was also hacked into just before Christmas. This resulted in everyone receiving a hoax message requesting money. Naturally most internet users are far too wise to do this – but please be assured all is fine here and there is no threat to the security of subscribers personal details.
Finally… A very MERRY CHRISTMAS to one and all! See you again in 2014.
Kind regards – Glyn Madden
“Hi everyone. Our email address book has been hacked and people are getting messages purporting to be from me. The message says I’m in trouble and need money. Naturally this is a scam! I’m fine and (much as I’d love you all to send me lots of money) I’m in pretty good health. I’m surprised this got through the computer’s virus defenses as it’s an old, old scam but please don’t respond.
On the BT front, there does seem to be a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel at last. I’ve had a call from someone in the Chairman’s office at BT (thanks to one of our subscribers) and they are now taking over the handling of the problem.
Naturally, as the Club phone number is still not connected, it’s too late to salvage any of our Christmas business – and if you’ve been disappointed at not being able to get a Christmas order to us I apologise whole-heartedly. All the orders we have received to date have now been posted out and should, according to Royal Mail, reach you in time.
Should you need to contact us by phone, please continue to use our temporary mobile number on 0747 352 0125. The line will be open during the normal Yamaha Club office hours 10am-1pm ; 2pm-4pm
Best regards – Glyn
